(this 指近处的物品   that 指远处的物品)

句中的your 可以用my / his / her / their 等替换

This is a ruler. 这是一把尺子。（近处的东西用this）

 That is a ruler. = That’s a ruler.那是一把尺子。（远处的东西用that）
